Do you enjoy driving? Do you want to help the local community? We are looking for volunteer drivers to join our community car scheme covering Chard and the surrounding villages, providing transport for those who are experiencing financial hardship on essential journeys. To apply click here.
If you are in need of transport for an essential trip and you are struggling with the cost, please do get in touch. We can register you as a member of the Car Scheme. Once registered you can book our volunteer drivers for you essential journeys. There is an annual £5 membership fee (covering our admin) and we charge a small amount per journey to cover driver expenses.
Discounts are available for those who hold a concessionary travel pass. To join you need an referral from an agency, like a doctor, school or Chard Community Hub. You can download a referral form here
