About us
The HUB is based at South Chard Church. We offer a range of services for the community of Chard, South Chard and the surrounding villages. We provide a safe space for people to come and chat about their needs and we work hard to sign post and refer people to the right services for them.
Meet The Team
Jenny Reid
Community Manager
Jenny’s role is to plan and co-ordinate the services we provide. She is an active member of several local and national forums and works hard to build and sustain links with other agencies. We know that we work better together and so we value these connections. Jenny also loves coffee and jazz music, preferably at the same time!
Gill Bough
Community Team
Musical and VERY friendly (it’s a superpower), you will often find Gill playing the guitar with groups of children or welcoming a new person into the HUB. Gill works in a variety of roles and has the ability to put people at ease in seconds. She genuinely cares about the needs of others and adapts often to meet those needs.
Clare Redgrave
Community Support Worker
Clare has managed several businesses in the past and has a wealth of life experience. She has worked with drug and alcohol services, parents and children and as a landlady (to name a few)! She brings a strategic edge to the team and keeps us focussed on the main thing.
Jo Thompson
Community Team
Passionate about children and families, Jo is one of our Kid’s Matter Facilitators. Working alongside Gill Bough she delivers parenting classes in local schools as well as running our Tots provision. Jo carries a varied tool kit and is often organising a variety of services using her admin skills, or strategically planning a new provision.
Julia Glass
Community Car Scheme Coordinator
Friendly and efficient, Julia looks after our growing pool of volunteer drivers and makes sure that all our car scheme members are well looked after. She genuinely cares for others and has a wealth of experience working in community.
